Vaginal Rejuvenation: Who Really Needs It?

The number of women seeking vaginal rejuvenation has been on the rise in the past few years. While some people are not familiar with the reasons why most women opt for this procedure, the reasons are pretty straightforward and understandable.

Today, more and more women are becoming aware of the various options available to them. As a result, they’ve started to prioritize their sexual health, as well as their overall well-being. That’s the reason why there has been an increase in the number of women seeking vaginal rejuvenation. With this, it’s important to understand who really needs to undergo vaginal rejuvenation.

Cosmetic purposes

Some women are opting to undergo vaginal rejuvenation for cosmetic purposes. Yes, all they want is to feel better about themselves, and also boost their confidence. Most of us, both men and women desire to keep our bodies in good shape and even take care of ourselves—and certain cosmetic surgery procedures help us to achieve this goal.

Vaginal rejuvenation is one of these procedures set for women. Women who undergo the procedure say that it gives them a better feeling when it comes to their overall well-being, as well as a positive outlook. This is particularly important when it comes to intimacy. This is one area where most women have a challenge, and it’s been affecting many relationships. However, certain procedures, laser vaginal rejuvenation can easily turn things around and boost intimacy.

Medical reasons

Apart from cosmetic reasons, other women will choose vaginal rejuvenation because of various medical reasons. Issues like pain during sex, urinary dysfunction, embarrassing noises, and even discomfort while exercising are some of the medical reasons why people choose this procedure. Therefore, if you have any of the above medical conditions, your doctor might recommend certain types of vaginal rejuvenation procedures.

Of course, patients are advised to have a second opinion before they undergo any form of surgery—and vaginal rejuvenation is not exempted. Now, let’s look at different situations when a doctor will recommend vaginal rejuvenation

Bladder prolapse (cystocele)

The weakening of vaginal muscles can cause the bladder to “sink” into the vagina. Patients with this condition might need to undergo vaginal rejuvenation (vaginoplasty) to solve the problem. However, there are alternative solutions to this issue, like hormone replacement therapy. But, the ultimate medical procedure will depend on the degree of prolapse.

Rectal prolapse (rectocele)

Just like the weakening of the vaginal muscles, weakened pelvic muscles can cause your rectum to “slip”. Vaginal rejuvenation can be used to re-strengthen the vaginal muscles, thus pushing back the rectum, and holding it back into the right place.

Urinary incontinence

The pelvic floor (muscles that hold the uterus, bladder, lower bowel, vagina, etc.) can weaken during childbirth. Also, these muscles can weaken because of menopause or old age. When these muscles weaken, a woman can start experiencing loss of bladder control or urinary incontinence when sneezing, coughing, or exercising.

Mostly, a doctor will recommend certain treatment procedures like Kegel exercises to women with this problem. However, if these conditions cannot restore the pelvic floor to its normal condition, a patient will need to undergo vaginal rejuvenation to solve the problem.

Perineal tears during childbirth

During childbirth, certain types of perineal tears can happen, from small tears to larger ones that can rip the vaginal tissue or the anal muscles. Most doctors say that this condition can only be solved by medical correction. However, vaginal rejuvenation can be used for patients with minor tears.

Sexual satisfaction

This is one of the major reasons why most women are opting to undergo vaginal rejuvenation—to enhance their sexual experience. However, certain people disagree with the theory that vaginal rejuvenation can boost pleasure during sex.

But, it’s important to note that an enlarged or loosened vagina can cause pain or pinch during sex. Moreover, it can make it a challenge for a woman to use tampons. Thus, vaginal rejuvenation can tighten and re-strengthen the vaginal walls, providing better friction, and also boosting confidence during sex.

Weak vaginal muscles

At times, a woman’s vaginal muscles will weaken, to the point where they will need to undergo a surgical procedure to correct the problem. The vagina can enlarge after menopause or childbirth, thus making the vaginal muscles wear out. Now, if Kegel exercises are not effective, as well as other alternatives, vaginal rejuvenation will be the last resort. This procedure helps in toning and tightening the canal, thus relieving a patient from discomfort and pain.
